New Adult Sunday School: "Why We Do What We Do on Sunday"

Join us this Sunday, October 23 when Rev. Lenzner will begin a new Sunday School Class entitled:  Why We Do What We Do on Sunday.

Have you ever asked yourself why we worship at Christ Reformed Church the way we do? Perhaps you’ve wondered about some of these things: Why does the minister wear a robe and raise his hands?; Why is the service ordered the way it is? What do words like “liturgy,” “invocation,” and “benediction” mean? "Why do we corporately respond during the service and recite ancient creeds?; Why do we read the Bible and pray so much? These are just a few of the questions we often have but may not always feel comfortable asking.  Join us for the next several weeks in the Adult Sunday School Class, at 9:00 a.m., as Rev. Lenzner explains why we do what we do on Sunday and teaches us about all the parts of the worship service.”

Academy Classes Resume: September 30, 2016

Our Friday night Academy class will resume on September 30 at 7:30 p.m.  Come join us for an interesting lecture and lively discussion.  Dr. Riddlebarger will return to our study of Dr. Michael Horton's theology text, The Christian Faith: A Theology for Pilgrims on the Way.  We will pick up where we left off last time with chapter 10 (p. 324) and the doctrine of creation.

New Adult Bible Class: September 11, 2016

"Suffering: Not the Final Word”

Join us on Sunday, September 11 at 9:00 a.m. when Rev. Brad Lenzner will begin a new Sunday school series: "Suffering: Not the Final Word”. As pilgrims traveling through this sad world to our heavenly home, we constantly face suffering in one way or another. How does the Gospel explain the existence of our suffering? How does the Good News of Jesus Christ comfort us in our suffering? How does the Gospel empower us to make our way through suffering and take us all the way to heaven? These are some of the questions we will consider during this teaching series. The aim of this study is to remind ourselves from the Scriptures that suffering does not have the final word over our lives, the Savior does!

GEMS Girls Club: September 14, 2016

GEMS (Girl Everywhere Meeting the Savior) Girls Club is a place where girls from grades 1–8 come together to learn about God, fellowship, and encouraging one another. Each Wednesday evening we meet at 7:00 p.m. to learn the catechism followed by an activity such as crafts, arts, sports, baking, sewing or crocheting/knitting. Our theme this year is Love Overflows. God's constant grace, mercy and love overflow each day of our lives. We will learn how to be grateful and "...increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you." 1 Thessalonians 3:12.

Installation Service for Rev. Brad Lenzner: August 21, 2016

We are pleased to announce that Sunday, August 21, Rev. Brad Lenzner will be installed to the office of Minister of Word and Sacrament at Christ Reformed Church.  You are invited to join us for worship at 10:30 a.m. for this joyful service.  A reception and lunch will follow immediately after the morning worship service.

The Holy Scriptures teach us that God, our Heavenly Father, purposes to gather His church out of the corrupt race of men to life eternal, and to give to His church such teaching and care that she may grow in faith and love and service.  God, by a particular grace, uses men for service to these ends appointing them to the preaching of the Gospel, and to a manifold ministry for the building up of the body of Christ.  The apostle Paul solemnly charged Timothy to "preach the word" (II Timothy 4:2), and our Lord Jesus charged His disciples to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19, 20).  The apostle Paul declares that the Lord Jesus Christ has given "some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers for the equipment of the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11, 12)

Adult Bible Class: August 14, 2016

Beginning Sunday, August 14, Rev. Lenzner will be teaching a three week Adult Bible Class at 9:00 a.m.

The new class is entitled:  "The Practice of Church Membership Defended and Explained”.

"Have you ever struggled to defend our practice of church membership from the Bible to your friends? Or have you simply wondered why we practice it and what the Bible has to say about it? If so, you’re not alone! During this three week series we'll study what the Scriptures have to say about: 1. Why We Practice Church Membership; 2. The Privileges of Church Membership; 3. The Duties of Church Membership."
