Rev. Dr. Zachary Purvis

Rev. Dr. Zachary Purvis, who is an ordained minister in the Free Church of Scotland, is being considered as a candidate for our second pastor position at Christ Reformed Church.  We encourage you to familiarize yourself with his ministry and be in prayer for his visit.

Rev. Purvis was ordained to the ministry of the Word and sacraments in October 2023. He presently serves as the Interim Moderator (Pastor) of Christ Church Edinburgh, overseeing the leadership of the congregation during its vacancy. He also serves as Lecturer and Postgraduate Supervisor in Church History at Edinburgh Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jessica, have three children and currently reside in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Consistory has arranged for Rev. Purvis to preach the morning and afternoon services on April 19th. Immediately following the second service on the 19th, we will have a Question-and-Answer time with Rev. Purvis in order for the congregation to get to know him better.  Consistory will ask him about his educational background, working in academia, his commitment to Reformed doctrine, his family life and living abroad and his interest in becoming a full-time pastor.  All members are encouraged to attend.
